WWE 2003 PPVs From Worst To Best

That first year of single brand PPVs, I tell ya...woof.

The biggest thing to happen to WWE PPVs in 2003 was that they became single branded during the summer, starting with Raw's Bad Blood in June. Previously, the only single branded PPV had been Rebellion, which was a Smackdown PPV broadcast live from the UK (so US fans only saw it on DVD).

All the B shows would henceforth either feature exclusively Raw or exclusively Smackdown wrestlers and matches, apart from Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Survivor Series. You know, the big ones. The B shows would have to make do with one crew only.

This decision lead to one of WWE's most wildly inconsistent years ever when it comes to PPV content. 2000, 2001 and 2002 had more hits than misses but 2003 struck out on many occasions. The star power just wasn't there any more, with The Rock transitioning into full-time movie star, Steve Austin calling it a day and Hulk Hogan popping in whenever he felt like it (then popping out when he inevitably butted heads with Vince).

2003 gave us Evolution, Goldberg's WWE debut and the regular return of the mercurial Shawn Michaels. There was good wrestling, bad wrestling and even a couple of genuine train wrecks. The writing was rarely inspire and usually tired. This was WWE in 2003, and this is 2003's PPVs ranked from worst to best.
