WWE's Roman Reigns Named By Alleged Steroid Seller

Jailed dealer makes outlandish claims.

The name of WWE star Roman Reigns has been included in a list of alleged clients by jailed steroid dealer Richard Rodriguez.

A video uploaded to YouTube purports to feature Rodriguez, whose Miami gym was raided last year by US federal agents, speaking via telephone to documentary filmmaker Jonny Bravo. At the four-minute mark, he begins to list celebrities he claims are associated with the racket, the first of them being Reigns.

No evidence to support the claim is cited, neither has the 32-year-old been linked to the scandal in any local news sources. As such, there is little reason at present for WWE, which enforces a strict drugs policy among its full-time workforce, to make any official comment in rebuttal.

Roman, a three-time WWE Champion, is widely regarded as one of the company's biggest assets, having headlined each of the last three WrestleManias. He is expected to play a similarly important role at The Grandest Stage of Them All this year in New Orleans.

The former aspiring football player was suspended for a first violation of WWE's wellness policy in June 2016, leading to a sharp (though short-lived) demotion from the top of the card. He issued a statement at the time via Twitter apologising to fans.
