Xavier Woods has told fans he suffered an MCL sprain after reports that he was injured during a SmackDown house show earlier this week.

The New Day member, who broke the news himself on Twitter and via his YouTube gaming channel, UpUpDownDown, appeared on SmackDown last night despite getting hurt the previous day.

Wearing a knee brace, along with a sign around his neck which read "It's sore", he accompanied his his teammates to the ring for their match against The Usos.

It was reported at the time that the extent of Woods' injury was still to be determined, however his condition is now thought to be better than first feared.

Becky Lynch, who was on on UpUpDownDown when Woods made his prognosis public, revealed that she had recovered from an MCL sprain herself inside one month, without taking a break from in-ring action.

It is theoretically possible, therefore, that the 30-year-old could remain on television, perhaps in a non-wrestling role, whilst he undergoes rehab.

The New Day's short-lived WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship reign was ended at SummerSlam by The Usos, with the feud now likely to continue into next month.
