In the world of WWE in the year 2012, holding one of the main Heavyweight Championships is something a good number of the roster can say they have achieved. Many of the current Main Event Superstars can boast multiple reigns of these Championships to boot, despite still being in the relatively early years of their careers in the Squared Circle.
There was a time when the biggest prize in Sports Entertainment didn’t change hands so freely. For many years, there would only be one or two names who held the gold over the span of 365 day plus period. The notion of somebody who had held the title opening a show was unheard of, let alone the idea of a major Championship contest being the first billed match on the card.
Due to the times, there were many Legends, Hall of Famers and names synonymous with Professional Wrestling that never held the richest prize in the business. There have been many discussions between fans over the years as to who the best performer never to hold a major World Championship was. This article will look at some of the most famous names in Professional Wrestling throughout the late 80′s/1990′s and how their gimmicks and styles may have fitted in today’s WWE, and whether they would likely have held a major Championship had they been part of a different generation in the industry.

Mr Perfect, good shout.
All these guys are from the era when the IC Title actually had some prestige and that’s what they’re remembered for, which I think is a good thing. The IC Title now if a lower league title now much like the Tag Titles. Think of this same era and think of all the great Tag Teams and look at today’s roster of new talents just lumped together. You’d still put the 5 guys in the list high up on the list of all time greats, even higher than some who’ve won the Wwe(f) title.
forgive me for not properly reading the title. im an american, which means that im to lazy to go back a few pages, scroll towards the top of the page and read the headline, lol. so i’ll go with my instincts instead. i see your list is comprised with every underrated wwe/f superstars from the 80′s and 90′s. now i don’t know if that was just a coincidence, or intentional. but like i said, i can’t remember any specifics about your title, and i basically skimmed through your article. to get to the point, shelton benjamin. horribly underrated. just saying, lol.
