WWE: 5 Reasons Why CM Punk Will Be Back

5. He May Just Need Time Off

Several proponents of the wrestling off-season may have a point: the grueling nature of the business is not for everyone. Even the best of the best get burned out due to all the travel, press appearances, house shows, and of course the twice a week shows and big Pay Per Views every month. That is a ton of commitment and eats up a lot of time, especially if you are like CM Punk who has been to the top of the mountain for a long time: the more popular you are, the more time you need to maintain your popularity. This is the reason for the increase in part-time performers: The Rock only appears twice a year, and Brock Lesnar, Chris Jericho, and the Undertaker have all earned the right, through the kind of hard work that Punk has put in (and surpassed in some cases) to perform for the WWE whenever they need to and are not required to keep to the same travel schedules as the regular performers. Needless to say, it is quite possible that CM Punk just needs some time to rest not only his body (at 35 years of age, he isn't exactly a spring chicken) but his mind as well. Imagine if you had to work without a vacation for a whole year: wouldn't you feel burned out as well? You can probably multiply it tenfold in CM Punk's case.
