WWE: 5 Reasons John Cena Should Have Already Earned Your Respect

5. Working While Injured/Being A Workhorse

John Cena's rapid healing abilities are mythical at this point. In 2008, he returned from a torn pectoral muscle in 3 MONTHS. Last year Cena wrestled Daniel Bryan at Summerslam while wearing an Allen Iverson like arm sleeve to protect his torn tricep. After a classic encounter, Cena was thought be to be out until at least the Royal Rumble while he recovered from what he termed, "A Baseball in his arm." Instead, Cena came back in just over 2 months, and hopped back into the grueling WWE schedule. Cena didn't cry, rest on his laurels, or become a victim of burning out, he came back and started wrestling on Smackdown, Raw and rejuvenated the World Heavyweight Championship in the process. Going back even further at 2008's Summerslam, Cena suffered a herniated disk in his neck when he took a Batista Bomb, but came back, you guessed it...ahead of schedule, to defeat Chris Jericho at Survivor Series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrNMicUqT_o&noredirect=1 The grueling nature of professional wrestling has seen many men succumb to lesser injuries, but in slicing his recovery times in half, and working while something is clearly wrong, Cena has proved his toughness stands alone. As Cena gets deeper into his mid 30's, it will become tougher to clear every injury hurdle. But if the last decade proved anything about the West Newberry native, John Cena will work his rear end off to not be stopped. How can that not be respected?
