WWE: 5 Reasons Why A Zack Ryder Heel Turn Will Fail

5. His Merchandise

merchI know it shouldn't really factor in at all in terms of a creative change, but underestimate the power of merchandise at your peril. See that crowd in the arena? See the proverbial sea of Cena shirts, Ryback vests and JTG shades? Well maybe not the last one. In fact, definitely not the last one. But the fact remains that merchandise is a huge money spinner for the WWE machine. And also for the superstar in question. Babyfaces make more money, bottom line (because I said so!), then their heel counterparts due to their merchandise sales. And Zack Ryder has one of the widest ranges of merchandise available to any WWE Superstar today. If he does turn heel, he can wave goodbye to that revenue. Sure he might be more creatively stimulated, but when has WWE creative ever successfully got behind a mid-card heel act? Exactly. Take the bucks and run Ryder.
