We all have giant expectations for WWE’s biggest event of the year. This is the big one, the time where giant things happen. The Road to WrestleMania and the event itself is the most wonderful time of year for WWE; it’s like Christmas for diehard fans. We all certainly have our own expectations and things we’d like to see. The great thing about the sports entertainment industry is that we each also have different points of view on where we want things to go and what we want to happen. This is just one man’s opinion on what he’d like to see at WrestleMania 29.
Honorable Mention
Snow
I can tell you with full confidence that this is very possible. I live fairly close to the site of WrestleMania 29, about a 35 minute drive away. That time of year is very unpredictable here as far as weather goes. It can be fairly warm here in early April but it can also be bitterly cold. I happen to be of the mindset that a light snow during the event would add something magical. The ring will be covered so it won’t impact the matches, but the idea that people both in attendance and at home could watch these incredible matches with the backdrop of a beautiful white snowfall is something that I personally think would add a bit of mystique to the event.

Agree 100% with all of your points apart from the obvious one, which you can surely guess. I think, especially after having lost twice to the Rock at previous PPV’s, Punk beating the most iconic undefeated streak in wrestling history would be a bit far-fetched.
I do, however, also disagree with one of your sub-points. I think the champ should appear less than other wrestlers. It’s like you earn a sabbatical and should be allowed to only appear at the big events. Back in the wrestling heyday, reigns meant something and they lasted for long periods because of that. These days, you can win the belt at a PPV and lose it the following day on Raw – Punk being the anomaly with his recent long reign, but even that was short compared to the runs of Sammartino and Hogan et al.
It’s the usual list of smark wishes and complaints…Punk to break the streak, the heels to get the final win against the faces, a heel turn, and hate on the Rock for a bit.
Most don’t make sense. The Shield shouldn’t get the final win against the faces, that’s not how wrestling works. Punk shouldn’t break the streak…everyone keeps talking about what WWE needs to give Punk to make him a legend. Well guess what, most legends didn’t need things handed to them on a platter, they earnt it themselves. Plus, he’s already been given the longest reign in 25 years, if that wasn’t enough to get him over the top, you don’t give him more, especially perhaps the most valuable win in WWE.
As for the Rock, so he misses a couple of Raws, so what…there was a time when you didn’t see the world title defended every single week and it made the title seem more valuable than it does now. The Rock is a bone fide legend, he carries the title in mainstream media, he makes the title seem more valuable than Punk could in 434 days. And when he puts Cena over, it will do more for him than anything anyone else on the roster could do.
Boo-urns,
I appreciate your comment but I think you’ve gone a little too far in your complete disgust of my post. Your first point is that The Shield shouldn’t win because that’s just not how wrestling works? That may be true in most instances but that’s also what makes wrestling bad at times. Sorry if I want things to head in a different direction every once in awhile. And I also never once said that the WWE championship should be defended every single week, I’m not sure where you got that from. But the WWE champ should at least show up every week on Raw, 100%. The face of the company should be there, don’t care what anyone says about that.
It wasn’t disgust, more bemusement at the disconnect between what adult fans want and what WWE delivers to the mainstream. The Shield have had three big wins against three super teams of faces, it’s time for them to finally get their comeuppance. As for Rock, when WM rolls round, he will have missed no more than a couple of Raws and yet he will have promoted the hell out of WWE and its belt to a mainstream audience. That’s more valuable than one more appearance. When all is said and done, what the Rock will have done for WWE will be significant and the anger and bitterness heaped on him by some fans because he found another career is misplaced.
Even though I don’t agree with you I can see where you are coming from with your point about The Rock. I have to still disagree with your comments about the situation with The Shield. Call me a smark or whatever you want but The Shield is the best story line the WWE has going right now and it hasn’t gotten stale yet, so why would I want their momentum to stop right when it’s reaching its peak? I know not everyone is going to disagree but it doesn’t come from the place you think it does.
I dont want the streak to end.
The Rock will most likely lose just because, he will be returning to Hollywood to do movies soon so….
I hope Ziggler does
Heel turn for Randy yes
From the moment the ref counted 3 on Cena last year, it’s been set in stone that he’d get his win back.
The Streak WILL Never Die Out…As They Say ”A Dark Knight Must Still Stand Tall” No..Actually I Made That Up. Anyway…The Streak will not blow up! CM Punk’s WWE Championship Streak – 434-3…He is already got a Streak of His Own, with 3 losses! Undertaker on the Other Hand has More..Mania wins then Championship Wins…So with all that Said…Undertaker Successfully Defends The Streak! CM Punk GET LOST! As For The Orton Heel Turn..Go Right Ahead! I’d Love See The Legend Killer..Revamped! Cena winning the WWE title against The Rock…100% Yes! Rocky in the WWF Attitude Era was soooo Much better! The Rock Now…Sucks…As For The Shield…Meh..They’re Alright. So I Can’t Wait For Mania’ 4/7/13!
Rock is the best. Cena sucks as a face. But he can be good as a face or a heel if he gives himself an Attitude Adjustment. Like he was in his first or second year in the WWE and he rapped. I want the streak to end. It’s gone on long enough and everyone would be in disbelief which would be a good moment. Plus I can see Punk wearing T-Shirts saying “I ended the streak”, lol. HBK should have ended it or he should come out of retirement at WM30 to end it if Punk does indeed lose.
