WWE: 6 Best Black Wrestlers Ever

6. Junkyard Dog

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDcSABrMlxI The Junkyard Dog was one of my favorite wrestlers when I was a kid growing up as a wrestling fan in the 1980s. What was so appealing about him? The name was really cool. The chain around his neck became something that was symbolic of him. His voice was unlike anybody else with the gravely tone that he had. I was also a huge fan of the headbutt he would do after he would crawl like a dog. Then there was the juke dance he would do with the kids. JYD was one of those larger than life characters that made us love wrestling in the 80s. As I grew up and watched more of his matches over the years, I realized just how tough he was. The JYD was a badass that overcame a lot in his career and really became a top guy in Mid-South Wrestling. What's cool about WWE right now is they own the footage to a lot of classic JYD matches and when the WWE Network is released, fans can watch JYD at his best. He wasn't a guy that won titles in his career. It was about his appeal as a performer. He was so likable and you could always tell how much he loved the wrestling business. The Junkyard Dog was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.
