WWE: 7 Wrestlers Who Should Be Massive Stars

1. Dolph Ziggler

You guys know enough about wrestling to know what a heel is. On paper, he's the villain. The bad guy. He's the one who cheats, and blatantly breaks the rules behind the back of the referee. They are nefarious characters. In the old silent movies, before the talkies, they were the ones you booed and hissed at. But in 2013, when Dolph Ziggler cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase against Alberto Del Rio, you would never be able to tell he was a heel. The crowd was absolutely bananas when Ziggler's music hit. It was clear. Ziggler was money. In fact, it's difficult to watch a PPV or episode of Raw where the crowd doesn't chant "We Want Ziggler". He has a very natural charisma, and is insanely likable. He's supremely entertaining, almost without even trying. But perhaps more than any of the other wrestlers on this list, Ziggler may be the one that looks the most like a top star. If you could build a main eventer from scratch, he would look like Dolph Ziggler. The crowd is always into him, his matches are the highlight of any card and he is clearly a guy who would be willing to be the guy that has to do tons of media and promotion for the company. His dedication is second to none. But while it seems as though Ziggler is ready for the big promotion, WWE clearly isn't as convinced. At this point, Ziggler is past any silly mid-card thing they'd try to do with him. Putting him in anything that isn't the main event just seems counterproductive to what he does out there, and what he does maybe better than anyone on the roster. I don't truly know why they've been so hesitant to let the sparks fly on Ziggler. Maybe it's all the reasons I've mentioned before, but I'm not so sure. It seems like the WWE knows Ziggler is money waiting to happen, but don't know quite how to make it work in the most effective way. No matter how many times he's jobbed out to someone he has no business going over him, the crowd still loves him. Obviously it's about more than the pops you get in the arena, but I think if Ziggler was given the ball, he'd score you a touchdown every time. But this is the part where I shut up. Do you think I'm crazy for even suggesting Daniel Bryan, or do you think I've missed someone completely? Sound off in the comments!
