WWE: 9 Guys Who Could Win Their First WWE Title In 2014

Wrestling fans love new blood. We also have short attention spans. Nothing excites us more than seeing new talent introduced, or new stars being created. As seen in past years, winning the top championship for the first time is a paramount moment in a superstar's career. Think back to Shawn Michaels defeating Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 12. Think of the feeling Brock Lesnar created when he dethroned The Rock at Summerslam 2002. In both circumstances, it was a changing of the guard that WWE fans were entirely ready for. However, there are times when it's done prematurely. It's safe to say Alberto Del Rio cashing in on CM Punk didn't create the same feeling. Shockingly, WWE merged their two world titles last year. It blocked some of these men from reaching the main event too quickly, which could be a blessing in disguise. Peaking too early could be a ticket to irrelevance. Ask The Miz. Once the title left him, so did fans interest. The voyage to the kingdom is often better than the actual reign, as evidenced by Stone Cold in 1997/1998. Back then, fans were ready for a guy like Stone Cold Steve Austin to win the title, because they felt like they were on a journey with him. The following 9 superstars have a chance to win fans over in the same manner, and capture the WWE Championship for the first time in 2014. Anyone else you have in mind? Let me know now on twitter @DangerRich32 or in the comments below. *Note : Daniel Bryan was not included due to his wins last year, please do not riot.

9. Mark Henry (Lifetime Achievement)

The World's Strongest Man has a new Rick Ross like look, and has been around longer than anyone who hasn't got a run with the WWE title. It's really a shame too, seeing how Big Show was consistently pushed to more favorable spots over the years, when they are essentially the same guy. Only Mark Henry is better, in every way. Whether its promo ability, matches, or their intimidation factor, Henry has it mastered. To the delight of fans everywhere, Henry began his 1 month feud with John Cena for the WWE title, and delivered one of the greatest promos/swerves of all time. Who can forget the salmon jacket Henry wore? What about the actual tears? Smart fans were made fools of. The leap Henry made as an all-around character in 2011 was a late career rebirth, similar to the one Juicy J experienced in 2013 in popular music. While they had both been around forever, something seemed to click, and they both became more popular than ever. Coincidentally, Juicy J is a part creator of Henry's theme song. Welcome to a Rich Latta column, where Mark Henry is compared to Juicy J of Three Six Mafia. Rather unfortunately, 3 years have passed since the Hall of Pain first opened its doors. WWE may think Henry is too old and injury prone for a run with the top title. However, if WWE is looking for a credible short term champion, to build someone higher on this list, look no further than Mark Henry. Always remember, "Mark Henry has plenty left in the tank!"
