WWE: 9 Pro Wrestling Shoot Interviews You Must Watch

Jim Cornette The Shoot Interview. Three words that make fans salivate. As much as we either love or hate the product we see on screen or in the ring, nothing is more intriguing than what goes on behind the scenes. In a true shoot interview, a wrestler is out of character and literally €œshooting€ from the hip, hence the term. It is usually a reflective interview about their careers, along with the good times, any regrets, and of course their opinion on other wrestlers and booking. If you have never watched a shoot interview, here is a great place to begin. A great shoot video lets the performer walk the fine line of telling the truth, and working the viewer. What I am bringing you here now is, Rich Latta€™s personal Shoot Interview Hall Of Fame. I have been compiling this list in my mind for a while, and to quote Dolph Ziggler, €œIM HERE TO SHOW THE WORLD!!€ The following nine talents have been chosen for their entertainment value, legitimacy or lack thereof, eye opening insight, the hilarity of their threats of physical violence, and the very important €œdid he just say that?€ factor.

9. Vince Russo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01No9zKclys&hd=1 Vince Russo is the proverbial €œright place at the right time guy€ according to most people in the business and €œexperts€ of the IWC. Vince Russo champions himself as a genius who famously said, €œ4 Star matches don€™t put asses in the seats!€ That contrast makes for some interesting shooting. As much as Russo gets beat up on verbally he was bound to be a great shoot interview, as it allowed him to shoot back at all detractors, and explain his rise and eventual fall. Russo shoots tend to be long ones; he has a series with co-writer Ed Ferrara called Ultimate Insiders. Each of them is an hour long, so if you want some good stories and you have some time, go ahead there. But those that want to get right to it, search for something on Youtube entitled €œTHE REVENGE OF VINCE RUSSO.€ It is spliced up into sound bites. He shoots on WCW who he says, €œHalf the roster sucked,€ TNA €œAll of the young guys are marks for themselves, 3 hour wrestling shows €œWe couldn€™t keep it interesting then how 13 years later are they doing this?€, Hulk Hogan, (Russo Vs Hogan is an entity itself: Bash at the Beach 2000) Ric Flair, and the fact he was amazed at how many people thought wrestling was real. I believe as the years go on, Vince Russo will be more revered than he has been, as he wraps up the video saying €œPeople want to make my legacy that I failed, because at the end of the day I changed their beloved business, How dare I?€ Yes, Russo did change the business, for better and for worse to some, but was that change not coming already?
