WWE & AEW Frustrated With Wrestlers Socialising During Pandemic?
Wrestlers' "cavalier" mingling between WWE, AEW, and Impact may have caused upset...
Dave Meltzer writes in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that private conversations surrounding wrestlers' "cavalier" attitude towards the ongoing global health crisis have been held in both WWE and AEW.
The writeup cites large parties featuring wrestlers from multiple different companies going down in Florida, which can cause the COVID-19 virus to spread quickly throughout the wrestling industry. Also contributing are couples that straddle different companies, though there's little that can be done in that regard.
Triple H has previously spoken about this on one of his media calls, expressing his frustration at wrestlers for fooling themselves into thinking that the pandemic was no longer a threat.
This news comes in the same week as a Fightful Select report stating wrestlers from WWE, AEW, and Impact had all tested positive emerging from the holiday period. Drew McIntyre confirmed that he is currently suffering from the virus prior to this week's episode of WWE Raw.
The festive season always looked likely to bring a spike in cases, given the increased mingling, though Meltzer states that the situation isn't as bad as he had anticipated.
A total of 13,720 new cases were announced in Florida yesterday, which is where WWE and AEW currently tape.
