WWE Announces New Network Programming

Attitude Era Part 2 is coming.

World Wrestling Entertainment released their quarterly financial statement on Thursday and with it they also mentioned some new programming they are planning for WWE Network. It's a mix of new shows as well as adding older content to the archives. Here's a summary of what they are planning. New programming includes: - A reality series on the NXT roster as they strive to make WWE€™s main roster. That would likely be some kind of show that takes fans backstage and shows clips of NXT performers out of the ring and in training. - There's a new series called "Table for 3" that gives viewers a seat at the table with Superstars and Divas. It sounds like an interview program. - A studio show highlighting current events in WWE and beyond. - New episodes of WWE 24, WWE List, Stone Cold's podcast, and teasers for "Camp WWE," which debuts in 2016. The next Stone Cold podcast will be with Paige next Monday. Sting and Undertaker are expected to take part in them at some point. The WWE 24 documentary series has been great, but they have only done a few episodes. They also announced expanded programming that will be added to the 3,300 hours of on-demand library that will include: - Raw Attitude Era Part 2: Austin-McMahon. In the "Raw Attitude Era" section of WWE Network, they have every episode from 1998 but only eight from 1999. Most likely this means they will add the rest of 1999 Raw to the archives since the Austin-McMahon rivalry really was the focus that year. - WCW Nitro: Accelerating The War. There's already a lot of Monday Nitro content on there with the Monday Night War series and documentaries, but apparently WWE wants to add more to it. - 20th Anniversary of Monday Nitro. The first episode of Nitro was on September 4, 1995 so it looks like WWE will be adding some new content to celebrate that. It was also noted in the report that the July 4 live event special from Japan "Beast in the East" has become the network€™s most watched program to date (excluding pay-per-views). That should mean more live events will be shown on WWE Network this year as well.
