WWE: Backstage News On Vince McMahon And Triple H's Opinion Of The Internet

Vince McMahon completely ignores the internet, meanwhile Triple H is actively harnessing the power of the 'internet wrestling community', according to PWinsider. Hunter's use of the IWC can be seen through his referencing and responding to the community via creative bookings and promos. This is best seen in the way Hunter produced Raw over the whole Daniel Bryan online Yes Movement. In regards to Triple H taking over more power in WWE, you can see his finger prints all over the product in this respect. Vince would never have engaged with internet fans, whereas Hunter is taking from the online buzz and fuelling WWE storylines with it. This is what WWE are now calling the 'Reality Era', basically meaning they are encouraging fan involvement in not just on-screen roles but also off-screen activities. The lessons Triple H is taking from the internet and applying to the product will be hugely encouraging to IWC fans, who have often felt ignored by the WWE in their desires for a wrestling focused show. As for Vince McMahon, you can understand his reluctance to acknowledge the IWC given the era he comes from. The internet in many ways goes completely against the notions of kayfabe and old school mentalities. This is 2014 however, fans are going to find out dirt and gossip whether WWE like it or not, by the company courting the IWC they can at least then control these fans and flows of information to an extent. Just take a look at the Chicago Raw or the Occupy Raw segment, by getting involved with the internet fans, the WWE are in some ways managing them into the company desires. Once again, Triple H's continued growth in power is proving a satisfying change from Vince McMahon's traditional ways.
