WWE Cancel ANOTHER SmackDown Show
Company cites "scheduling conflict" for the nixed live event.
For the fourth time in six weeks, WWE has cancelled an upcoming SmackDown Live Event to allow talent to migrate to Raw as part of their hazy and incredibly disruptive 'Wild Card' rule.
The company sent an e-mail to ticket holders for next Monday's show in Corpus Christi, TX, informing them that it had now been cancelled due to a "scheduling conflict". Disappointed punters were told a refund would be available:
"The WWE: SmackDown live event scheduled for Monday June 3rd at American Bank Center Arena in Corpus Christi, TX has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict. All fans who purchased tickets for the Corpus Christi, TX live event should go to their point of purchase for refunds."
'Scheduling conflict', in this instance, means freeing up talent on the day so they can appear on Monday Night Raw, next week penned in for Austin, TX's Frank Erwin Center.
It's not clear to what extent WWE's hastily hobbled together 'Wild Card' rule is invigorating Raw's viewership - numbers have only seen a slight incline - but it sure will be dissuading fans from buying tickets for the blue brand's house shows.
