WWE Cancels Roddy Piper's Legends Contract?

According to Ric Flair anyway.

WWE Hall of Famer "Rowdy" Roddy Piper no longer has a Legends Contract with the company. His good friend Ric Flair revealed the news on his Woooo Nation podcast. This follows the story from yesterday where it appeared that Piper felt like Steve Austin had something to do with the Rowdy one no longer being a part of Podcast One. There was speculation that Austin was mad that Piper's guest Will Sasso did an Austin imitation that put him in a bad light for not appearing at WrestleMania 31. Austin went on to say that he had nothing to do with it and that Piper simply wanted out of his contract. It's definitely a bit of a surprise that WWE would take away Piper's Legends Contract over this squabble because if Austin says there is no beef then what's the issue? It makes you think that there's more to the story than just a couple of ex-wrestlers having a verbal spat.
Piper's worked for companies other than WWE, but he will always be associated with them as one of their biggest ever heels and is grateful for his career there. In 2006 at Cyber Sunday when he was picked for a tag match with Ric Flair, doctors found that he had Hodgkin's lymphoma and he said that if fans didn't pick him to be in that match he may have died because he may not have known he had the disease. A few years ago he was part of the Legends House show as well. This is hopefully something that will blow over with time because Piper should always have an association with WWE because he is one of their best superstars of all-time.
