WWE: Chris Jericho Turned Down WrestleMania 30 Offer

The latest Wrestling Observer Radio show confirmed Chris Jericho will not feature at WrestleMania 30. The star was contacted by WWE, just like they contacted every major name about special appearances, but Jericho turned the offer down. He doesn't want to return for anything other than a major role. A situation like last year in which he ends up used against the likes of Fandango is something he doesn't want to do at this stage of his career. From that we can surmise Jericho will only return when WWE has a major creative angle or main event match for him. Dave Meltzer confirmed the disappointing news "Jericho's not coming. They asked him, they asked everyone ... in his mind he's all in or all out, and right now he's all out. "He would only come back if they had the right scenario." Meltzer further went on to suggest that Jericho perhaps felt a bit put out by his last run in WWE. He had been scheduled to face Ryback last year, but that was killed by the decision to turn Ryback heel and all the heat he lost after losing to Punk. Jericho made do with Fandango at WrestleMania, in a poor, forgettable match. The fact that it ultimately ended up counting for nothing in Fandango's career must have disappointed Jericho €” he put the dancer over only for WWE to treat the rookie as a meaningless jobber for the rest of the year. Jericho's effort ended up counting for nothing. Although it's a shame we won't see Jericho in for Mania, at least his insistence on coming back for something major means WWE will have to book him strongly when he inevitably does return further down the line.
