WWE Concern For Riots In Survivor Series Host City

Volatile situation in Missouri is set to erupt.

WWE has issued a statement to address the fears of riots in St.Louis, Missouri this weekend where Survivor Series will be taking place. It is a tense situation in Missouri right now, as the state braces itself for the grand jury verdict on whether to bring criminal charges against a police officer who shot dead a black teenager. With the verdict imminent, there are fears of violent riots. Although trouble has so far been centred in Ferguson, Missouri (where the shooting took place), it is believed that St.Louis as the larger urban area could see rioting. The National Guard has already been sent in. The threat of riots could have a big impact on WWE's show from St.Louis' Scottrade Center. If the city was to shutdown in a curfew then the event could even end up cancelled. That would be a disaster for WWE after they promoted the broadcast as a key part of WWE Network's free sign-up offer. Below is a statement WWE issued regarding the situation. "As always, WWE is working closely with the venue to ensure the safety of our fans and performers, and they will keep us abreast of any developments." Hopefully the WWE can be a force for positivity in the city. The event will bring people together and should be a celebration of entertainment. The tense political situation will continue to be monitored by the authorities and WWE's management.
