WWE Considering Non-Wrestling Role For Daniel Bryan?

With a DVD and book coming out, WWE wants Bryan to be on TV.

The Daniel Bryan injury is a source of frustration for everybody involved. Bryan missed most of last year with a neck and shoulder issue. He got back in the ring early this year, produced at a high level like usual for about four months and now he's on the shelf again. Bryan's no longer the Intercontinental Champion after forfeiting the title on Monday's Raw. According to a report from PWInsider, WWE wanted to get Bryan back in the ring this month and have a match with King Barrett at Sunday's Payback PPV, but that's not going to happen now. After they got the MRI results from his tests, they determined that Bryan would not be able to return soon and they really have no idea when he can return, if at all. It's a tough spot for WWE officials because they want the best treatment possible for Bryan, but they also want him working for the company because he's an asset for them on TV. People love the guy and there are few wrestlers that can fire up the crowd the way he can. Guys like him are pretty special. In addition to that, Bryan's also got a new book coming and a DVD coming out on June 2. WWE would have liked to have him on television to be able to promote these things. If he's hurt that makes it difficult. Bryan went on Instagram to say that he's working as hard as he can to get back in the ring. https://instagram.com/p/2l_CwwSVCH/ Since Bryan can't compete right now, there is talk that WWE might consider putting him in some kind of non-wresting role. The spot that fits perfectly for him would be an on screen GM, but as long as WWE decides to keep The Authority storyline in place that would be difficult to do. In 2004 when Kurt Angle was out for a few months they made him the GM of Smackdown and he did a good job in the role. Bryan could do the same if given the opportunity. The entire story is a sad one because Bryan worked so hard to get to WWE and rarely got hurt in his career before his injury last year. Now his future is very much in doubt. Hopefully they can figure out a way to get him back in the ring whether he needs to have a major surgery or some other treatment.
