WWE Covers Up Network Logo On European Shows

Sorry UK, no WWE Network. And here's some tape to cover it up!

It's been a big news story all week. WWE was supposed to launch WWE Network in the United Kingdom and Ireland this past Monday. Less than hour before the launch date, they announced on social media and their website that it wasn't happening. No official reason was given. No specific date was announced. It has left WWE's fans in the UK & Ireland very upset because they have been waiting a long time for it. This past Tuesday, WWE also started their European tour with most of the shows taking place in England. There has been a startling discovery, though. WWE decided to use tape to cover up the part of the ring apron that usually says "WWE Network" on it. A fan took the above photo of the ring with the tape covering the WWE Network logo. It's been making the rounds on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with many fans joking about if the tape cost $9.99 in reference to the price point WWE has used in the United States. During the WWE live events in parts of Europe without the WWE Network, there's a video with Vince McMahon apologizing for not having the WWE Network over there yet. In reading reports from fans at shows like the one in Cardiff, Wales on Friday the response to McMahon's videos has been the same: loud boos. Fans are sick of the fact that they don't have WWE Network yet. They are going to let WWE know it too. Since Monday's Raw and Tuesday's Smackdown tapings are taking place in Liverpool, England it will be interesting to see what they have on the side on the ring. Taping up the WWE Network logo on television would look really bad. They'll probably just keep it visible since the majority of fans watching at home can get WWE Network unlike the fans in the arena. Hopefully WWE can resolve this issue soon and give the fans in the UK & Ireland what they want. That's WWE Network.
