As part of the press release announcing Daniel Bryan's upcoming WWE Championship match against AJ Styles at November's Crown Jewel, the company quietly let on that the show is now set to take place at a new venue - a considerably smaller one.

The Riyadh propaganda piece was original advertised for the 68,000+ capacity King Fahd International Stadium. According to the latest presser, the Saudi show has been moved to the King Saud University Stadium, which boasts a capacity of 25,000 - just under a third of the original location.

Obviously, no details for the switch were given, but it's fairly easy to read between the lines. WWE crowed that April's Greatest Royal Rumble, hosted in Jeddah, drew a crowd of 60,000. In reality, the number was more likely closer to 40,000 - with many of those seats papered to create a positive outward impression for both the company and ruling family.

Crown Jewel is scheduled for 2 November. As well as Styles' championship clash with Bryan, Roman Reigns will put his Universal strap on the line against Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman, and The Brothers of Destruction are expected to collide with Triple H and Shawn Michaels over the last Werther's Original.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
