WWE: Daniel Bryan Talks CM Punk And His Career

The most popular guy in WWE these days is Daniel Bryan. If you listen to the crowd, they'll tell you. The "yes" chants and the "yes movement" he has going these days is something wrestling fans love from those in the arena to those of us online that tend to be more serious in terms of how much we follow the business. Earlier this week, Bryan spoke to Matt Dery of Detroit Sports 105.1 about his WWE career. During their 23 minute discussion, Bryan covered a lot of different things. When talking about his own career, Bryan came off as humble like usual. He's never been a guy that brags about himself or comes off like a jerk. He's humble, honest and comes off as a very real guy. His character is not far different from what he's really like. Here's what he had to say about success:
"I don't ever think in terms of 'making it.' Success is a funny thing, because as soon as you reach one goal you have other goals. And that's in any business. If you would've asked me before I even got to WWE if I had made it just based on my independent career in wrestling internationally, I would say to you, 'Yeah.' Even if that was the end of it, I didn't have to do anything but put on spandex tights and go out and wrestle in front of people."
That's what makes Bryan such a likable. He won't say that he would be miserable without WWE. He admits that he'd be comfortable without it because he had a lot of fun wrestling in front of a few hundred people. Obviously it's better to be in a WWE ring with more people watching and performing in bigger venues, but that's not what defines him. When Bryan was asked about CM Punk he offered up this opinion on the subject:
"Honestly I don't know that much. I haven't heard from him since he left. The company hasn't really released anything other than he's no longer with the company right now. It'll be interesting to see what happens."
If you were expecting insight from Bryan, apparently he doesn't know any more about the situation than we do. He says he hasn't talked to Punk and even if he has, I doubt he would say that publicly. Bryan's been wrestling with Punk for over a decade now, so they are friendly with eachother. He's in the same boat as a lot of us are regarding Punk. We don't know what might happen. It's a good interview that you should listen to if you're a fan of Daniel Bryan because you can appreciate the man behind the "yes movement" and hear his insight on a number of different subjects.
