I have been writing this column for WhatCulture since Survivor Series 2017 and this edition, let me tell you, is a genuine first.

Every single show WWE put on throws up all sorts of wild accusations, backstage gossip and alleged leaks that can raise even the stiffest of cynical eyebrows, but Elimination Chamber 2019, well, didn't. Normally we look at a lack of chatter with as much intrigue as it normally suggests something major is being kept deliberately under wraps but, dear god, not this time.

Flat out, WWE do not care about this show. They have booked in as many safe matches as they can get their hands on and will likely make the main event a match for a currently unclaimed title. Literally the only way the company has of giving you something that feels important without actually having to really consider the booking implications. Beyond that we are looking down the barrel of one of the most inconsequential events in recent memory.

But fear not friends, I would never, ever let you down like that.

A cursory scan across the barren sands of internet revels very little but that's precisely why idiots like me always pack a shovel. We have dug deep and dug far this time to crack into WWE's creative plans and, through persistence, it's yielded some tiny nuggets of gold. I even picked up a phone and asked some people this time, that's the lengths we've had to go to.

Want to see what we've dug up? Course you do.
