Extreme Rules 2016 was in many ways a typical "B-show" pay-per-view, featuring a couple of bad matches and a couple of good ones, while the bulk was made up of acceptably decent if fairly forgettable bouts.

Yes, Extreme Rules is always handicapped by the WWE's current PG climate, but the best match on the card didn't need any silly gimmicks to succeed, which says it all really.

Still, we got one more title change than you might have expected for a show this inconsequential, while the results mostly made sense even if a few more crowd-pleasers might've compensated for making us put up with the current Roman Reigns title program.

And yet, it's pretty clear that most people won't be talking about the best match of the night or even the main event itself, but rather the return of Seth Rollins at the tail-end of the PPV, nailing Reigns with a Pedigree.

Here is every Extreme Rules 2016 match ranked from worst to best...

8. No DQ: Baron Corbin Vs. Dolph Ziggler

Result: Corbin defeats Ziggler with the End Of Days (7:07).

Rating: It's hard to expect much from this one when the match doesn't even begin until less than 10 minutes before the pre-show concludes, but even so, this was ridiculously low-effort fare.

There was simply nothing particularly interesting to see here: it was an incredibly unremarkable No DQ match that didn't even do much with the stipulation beyond setting up the low-blow finish, and it had a slow pace to match.

To be honest, this was never more entertaining than hearing Mauro Ranallo say "He just pulverised Zigglers plums in his fruit basket" at the finish. 4/10
