WWE Hall Of Famer And Wrestling Icon 'Bullet' Bob Armstrong Has Died

Wrestling legend and 2011 WWE Hall Of Famer 'Bullet' Bob Armstrong has passed away. He was 80 years old.

The sad news was confirmed on Twitter by his sons Brian 'Road Dogg' James and former WWE referee and WCW wrestler Scott Armstrong, who posted the following identical tweets just a minute apart.

'Bullet' Bob (real name Joseph James) wrestled consistently between the 1960s and late-1980s for numerous territories in North America, challenging on occasion for the NWA World Heavyweight Title as and worked consistently for Continental Championship Wrestling and other NWA affiliates across the southern states. Stints in Japan, Smokey Mountain Wrestling, WCW and even TNA followed as he enjoyed semi-retirement over the subsequent thirty years. A 2011 induction into the WWE Hall Of Fame for his immense contributions to the industry came despite him never working for the organisation.

A wrestling family patriarch, Bob had four children - Joseph 'Scott Armstrong' James, Robert 'Brad Armstrong' James, Steve 'Steve Armstrong' James and Brian 'Road Dogg Jesse James/B.G James' James - that also achieved varying levels of success in the industry.
