WWE Hell In A Cell 2019: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best
Well, at least the opener was great.
All the proof fans needed that WWE didn't care much about this year's Hell in a Cell event was provided by the fact that, on the day of the PPV, a mere four matches had been announced.
And predictably, the show was a wildly inconsistent mish-mash of acceptable TV-caliber fare, promising matches with terrible booking, and a couple of bouts that actually dared to be very good, or in one case, great.
But pretty much any PPV is destined to be judged by how it ends, and in that regard Hell in a Cell 2019 was a colossal misfire, sending fans home deeply unhappy and even chanting for the competition. Not a good look.
A lack of hype is no excuse for putting on such a mediocre show, though: even the worst build should be able to produce solid in-ring work with the right talent, and despite the clear abundance of it on this card, actual effort was in desperately short supply.
It wasn't all bad - in fact, half the card passes for pretty good - but the inescapable low-effort feel really made it hard to get excited about anything...
