WWE Interested In Former Ring Of Honor World Champion?

The company may be looking to add to its recent string of independent signings.

According to Lords of Pain and a handful of other outlets, WWE have sent feelers to former Ring of Honor World Champion, Adam Cole. It's possible that the company is looking to add to its recent crop of signings. The most recent additions to the company€™s roster have been Kenta, Fergal Devitt, and Kevin Steen, with Willie Mack reportedly signing a deal, as well. WWE has impressed many diehard wrestling fans with these new talent acquisitions. Now, it seems that Adam Cole may potentially be next on the list. While he has yet to be offered a deal of any kind, this is a move by WWE to see if and how interested the indy standout would be in coming to the company. Furthermore, it€™s very unlikely that WWE would sign a talent without seeing them firsthand. The feeler may be in regard to Cole coming to the Performance Center for a tryout or camp. It should also be noted that Adam Cole has been for sometime and is currently under contract to Ring of Honor. While he has continued to compete for a handful of other independent promotions while under his deal with ROH, there is no doubt that such a contract would prevent him from joining WWE at this time. Of course, if Cole decides not to renew his deal with ROH when it expires, he could then pursue an opportunity with WWE. Furthermore, it is currently unknown when Cole€™s ROH contract will be up. Cole has made a name for himself on the independent circuit through his in-ring prowess and brash attitude. He got his start in Philadelphia's Combat Zone Wrestling, before debuting for Ring of Honor just one year after his debut. Initially, Cole was only used sporadically as a jobber. However, in 2010, he signed a contract with ROH and began his ascent to the top of the company. It will be interesting to see what comes of the rumored interaction between WWE and Adam Cole. As stated, no contract offer has been made -- and is unlikely to happen at this time -- however, the fact that WWE reached out to the independent star is enough to warrant some wild speculation from the internet wrestling community. Will Adam Cole become the latest independent talent to join the ranks of WWE, or is there nothing more at play here than wild rumor? Let us know your thoughts on the former Ring of Honor World Champion and his chances on making it to WWE in the comments below.
