WWE Interested In Signing Current UFC Champion?

Ronda Rousey and WWE express interest in working together.

Ronda Rousey has been one of the premier stars of the mixed martial arts world for some time now. Rousey is an extremely popular competitor in the UFC and is the company€™s first-ever and current Women€™s Bantamweight Champion. Rousey is also a dedicated and lifelong professional wrestling fan, having expressed an interest in working with the WWE on numerous occasions. It€™s being reported that the WWE has now become interested in the UFC champ as well. Prior to this, it seemed the company was uninterested in Rousey, simply because they were not familiar with her. Supposedly, many of the higher-ups in WWE are generally unaware of the UFC and as such, were unfamiliar with Rousey. Ronda, however, attended WWE€™s SummerSlam pay-per-view earlier this month along with her Four Horsewomen of MMA counterparts. It€™s said that Rousey€™s interactions backstage with company officials, the roster, and especially Stephanie McMahon helped build interest toward the UFC star. Rousey and her MMA cohorts even helped dose Stephanie for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge after the conclusion of SummerSlam. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Z_XDJDsFs4 Reportedly, Rousey was originally hoping to participate in the SummerSlam event in an on-air capacity, but things simply didn€™t work out. However, it€™s now speculated that the WWE will pursue some type of working agreement with the MMA competitor in the near future. It€™s unclear, at this time, in what capacity Ronda would be used. It will be interesting to see what comes of the relationship between WWE and Rousey. Both sides have now shown interest in working with each other, however, Ronda€™s UFC contract could easily prevent her from appearing within a WWE ring. UFC€™s President, Dana White, has expressed his admiration for WWE€™s Chairman, Vince McMahon, in the past, but has also stated that he would not let an active fighter compete for the wrestling promotion. Still, a cross-promotional deal could be worked out between the two companies for Rousey. If an agreement is reached, it could lead to bigger things in the future -- a possible return to UFC for Brock Lesnar maybe. Will the UFC let Ronda Rousey appear on WWE television, or will the MMA promotion put a halt to any interest between the two parties? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
