WWE Money In The Bank 2018: Star Ratings For All 10 Matches

9. Daniel Bryan Vs. Big Cass

Jinder Mahal STAR RATING 1

This was better than their match at Backlash, by a decent margin. Which is to say, it wasn't utterly tedious and soul-destroying.

It was quite tedious, mind. With more time in which to work, Cass again failed to justify his mini-push by once more ambling through his heat spots with little in the way of purpose, poise or intensity. It was as elemental as pro wrestling gets, at least in the over-long middle portion.

Bryan's work, in contrast, was excellent. Determined to reward a Chicago audience that could not care less who stood, almost literally, in the opposite corner, this was the closest yet we've come to the house afire babyface of old. Where Cass did little beyond plodding Florida Championship Wrestling-level fare, Bryan dusted off the reaches of his expansive arsenal with some electrifying lucha-inspired flourishes which, to Cass' credit, he sold fluidly and frantically. His selling improved throughout. Perhaps he was as impressed by Bryan as everybody else in the rocked arena; as the match belatedly built to a dramatic crescendo, Cass looked out of it more than he looked out of his depth.

This was as good as it gets for Cass - he'll never wrestle a better opponent in a more receptive environment - and it was still only quite good.

Star Rating: **1/2
