WWE Network: 10 Performers To Gorge On

The WWE Network is set to launch this Monday, and with it, comes about 1,000 hours of content, most of which you'd have to scour the internet to find or pray to God that your cable company carried WWE 24/7. But the WWE is looking to change all of that, and grant you a front row seat to relive all of your favorite childhood moments. Of the 1,000 hours of content available at launch, this includes every single WWE, WCW and ECW pay-per-view from 1983 to present day. Yes, that includes December to Dismember from 2006, but don't hold it against them. While you've certainly come to expect people telling you what events to watch, these events would be nothing without the performers who made them great. And as the WWE continues to add new content to the service, more and more of the glory days of these performers will be available for us to watch. Now is the time to use this opportunity, and find out just what the fuss is with all the wrestlers you've heard of, but have barely seen much of their early work. The WWE hasn't necessarily been kind with releasing anything that isn't their own product. But with the promise of the company adding events and matches from companies like World Class Championship Wrestling, Mid-South Wrestling and Smokey Mountain Wrestling, this will give you ample opportunity to check out some of the great stars whose work has been locked away in a vault. Now, 10 performers you should gorge on when the WWE Network launches, this Monday!

10. Jake "The Snake" Roberts

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9PkUtoOGJ8 Despite Jake's mountain of personal demons that afflicted him most of his life, his recent, phoenix-like rise from the ashes has been nothing short of inspirational. Thanks to the DDP Yoga program, Jake has emerged triumphant and even made a return to WWE television in the recent Old-School Raw, and was also granted a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2014. But while many fans have most definitely heard of Jake, some may be largely unaware of how incredible Jake truly was. As a promo man,he was as gifted as anyone could hope to be. And in the ring? As the inventor of the now standard DDT, he's got a special place in the history of pro wrestling. One of the most incredible rivalries Jake ever had was with "Ravishing" Rick Rude, one of the greatest heels in all of wrestling. After Rude began hitting on Jake's wife, the two became locked into a rather adult-slanted feud, a prequel perhaps, to the Attitude Era which was to come years later. Rude put the stamp on the angle when he had the likeness of Jake's wife, Cheryl, emblazoned onto his trunks. Far ahead of its time in terms of adult content and maturity. The two men worked together exceptionally well, and put on a series of classic matches. Over the years, Jake put together a stunning body of work. And it is wonderful to know that it will be displayed for all to see with the launch of the Network. Whether you watch his feud with Ravishing Rick, his outstanding match against the late "Macho Man" Randy Savage at This Tuesday in Texas or one of his intense, eerie promos delivered upon the Undertaker in 1992, you'll become a fan of Jake for life.
