WWE News : Multiple Backstage Heat On CM Punk

WWE Superstar CM Punk is hotly tipped as a potential Royal Rumble winner.

CM-Punk-CC1 WWE Superstar CM Punk is hotly tipped as a potential Royal Rumble winner, he is considered a favorite to challenge Randy Orton for the WWE Title at Wrestlemania 30. That could all be about to change. Several sources are reporting that there is significant heat on CM Punk within the WWE right now. Management and some in the locker room are unhappy with Punk's conduct outside of work, and there is a belief that he may be feeling somewhat cocky given his status over the past few years. Traditionally WWE management has looked to knock superstars down a few notches when it's felt they are getting above themselves - just look at what happened to Dolph Ziggler after he criticized WWE creative. The heat on Punk has developed for three different incidents. Firstly, he seems to be frustrated with the company right now, and has let everyone know about it. A recent photo he tweeted of an advert asking "Is a bad app ruining your business?" was an obvious subtle dig at the overexposure of the WWE app on Raw. It wasn't a huge deal, but considering the high importance that WWE Corporate has put on the app, it was hardly a good move. The second thing to put heat on Punk was his defending of girlfriend AJ Lee when she verbally attacked NBC personality Michelle Beadle. Punk's handling of this was to staunchly defend Lee when she was blatantly acting in an unprofessional manner. Some in the locker room, particularly veteran talent, are not impressed with Punk for sticking up for AJ. The Divas champ is seen as too much of a fan of the business as opposed to a professional in the business, and Punk has attached himself to a divisive figure. Management in particular were unhappy with the incident, there is a big value in the relationship with NBC and a pride in dealing with celebrities. Punk, through association with AJ's unprofessional behavior, has been hurt. Finally, WWE are reportedly very unhappy that Punk has been tweeting about Hockey rather than promoting their product. Management do not understand why Punk wouldn't want to sell his appearances in the same way John Cena and other top talent do on social media. The fact he has tweeted about other events could be turning fans on to different channels when they could be watching WWE. The question is, will Punk find himself in the doghouse over these frustrations, or will he continue on course for a huge main event at Wrestlemania 30? It should also not be forgotten that a frustrated CM Punk has often times been the best performing CM Punk in the past. He works well with a bit of anger in his bones.
