Last night's WWE Night of Champions 2012 results...

Last night's WWE Night of Champions 2012 results... Pre-Match; Zack Ryder wins the pre-show Battle Royal to become the new #1 Contender to the WWE United States Title. Also in the match were Brodus Clay, Primo, Epico, Justin Gabriel, Tensai, Tyson Kidd, Michael McGillicutty, Darren Young, Titus O'Neil, Jinder Mahal, JTG, Drew McIntyre, Ted DiBiase, Heath Slater, Santino Marella. Tensai was the last defeated. As the PPV begins, Michael Cole talks about the Jerry Lawler incident from last week's RAW and updates the WWE Universe on his condition. Cole says Lawler thanks the fans for their support and notes that Lawler will be returning home tomorrow. Former WWE Champion John Bradshaw Layfield comes out to join Cole on commentary for tonight. 1) WWE Intercontinental Fatal 4 Way Title Match: The Miz defeats Rey Mysterio, Cody Rhodes and The Miz. Finish came when Rhodes went for the Cross Rhodes on Cara but Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale on Rhodes to snatch the win. Titus O'Neil and Darren Young are talking to Eve Torres backstage and complaining. Eve hears something and runs off. Kaityln is backstage with a trainer and has been attacked. She has her ankle injured and she won't be able to compete tonight. 2) WWE Tag Team Title Match: Daniel Bryan & Kane defeated Kofi Kingston & R-Truth to become the new Tag Team Champions. Finish came when Bryan shoved Kane off the top rope and he splashed Kingston who was on the mat for the pinfall. Teddy Long and Booker T are backstage talking about the match they just saw. Eve comes in and says Kaitlyn twisted her ankle and can't compete. Booker says Eve has earned a shot at the WWE Divas Title amd she has been doing a great job as his assistant. Eve thanks him and walks off. Booker tells Teddy he will holla at him in a minute and walks off as Teddy looks confused. Cole & JBL are ringside talking about the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer that they are supporting. They announce the middle rope will be pink throughout October in support. 3) WWE United States Title Match: Antonio Cesaro defeated Zack Ryder when Cesaro hit the Neutralizer on Ryder for the victory. David Otunga is backstage with Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez. Ricardo comes in without a neck brace and they yell him to put it back on to keep up the ruse. Ricardo says he is feeling better but they insist. They call him stupid and walk off. 4) Randy Orton defeated Dolph Ziggler with an RKO for the clean victory. 5) WWE Divas Title Match: Eve Torres defeated Layla with a big neckbreaker. After the match, Eve is celebrating with her new belt as we go to replays. Layla is crying on the mat as JBL says there is no crying in wrestling. Daniel Bryan and Kane are backstage with Dr. Shelby arguing about who is the Tag Team Champion. Raw General Manager AJ Lee walks up screaming and says she can't believe how far they have come and that they still can't get alone. Kane flips out, dumps some iced Gatorade out of a cooler on everyone and walks off. Kane says he is off to Disneyland. 6) World Heavyweight Title Match: Sheamus defeated Alberto Del Rio with the Brogue Kick. Sheamus is celebrating as Del Rio and Ricardo leave together. 7) WWE Title Match: John Cena defeated CM Punk to become the NEW WWE Champion. Cena hit a top rope superplex on Punk and held on for the pin for the victory. After the match Cena is celebrating at ringside with some National Guard troops and his family members. Cena hits the ring to continue celebrating but Justin Roberts comes out on the mic and it's announced that both of their shoulders were on the mat and the match is declared a draw. Cena is arguing with the referee and turns around to a belt shot to the face from Punk. WWE Champion CM Punk holds up the belt above Cena and yells out respect as Paul Heyman looks on from the apron. WWE Night of Champions goes off the air with Punk and Heyman smiling from the stage.
