WWE NXT will return to this year's Download music festival, according to the event's official Twitter account.

Aleister Black, Adam Cole, Shayna Baszler, Ricochet, and several others have already been announced, with more to be confirmed over the coming weeks and months. They'll be in action at the Donnington Park festival from June 8th-10th, though specific details are still to be revealed.

It'll be the first time NXT has hit British shores since June 2017, when the developmental brand ran a brief UK tour concluding at the festival.

Download organiser Andy Copping had the following to say:-

“I am incredibly fired-up to welcome WWE NXT back to Download Festival. This festival exclusive marriage of rock and wrestling is totally unique and the only place where you can see the world’s most legendary rock stars and the brightest WWE prospects together. If previous years are anything to go by this is going to be the biggest most fun weekend ever.”

This will be the third consecutive year that WWE have ran shows during Download. Future NXT Champion Bobby Roode famously debuted at the 2016 event, and was holding the promotion's top prize one year later, along with other highlights.

As the UK's biggest rock and metal festival, Download 2018 will be headlined by Avenged Sevenfold, Guns N' Roses, and Ozzy Osbourne. WWE held two separate NXT shows across the weekend in 2017, and will likely do the same again this year, though this is yet to be confirmed.
