WWE NXT Talent Struggling With Low Pay

Divide in NXT over pay.

There's a big divide in WWE NXT over the have's and have not's, Dave Meltzer is reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The wrestlers on the underneath of the brand are having a hard time making it, due to the low pay and expenses of travelling, training and living. Meanwhile, the top level talent, are being very well taken care of. Despite the problems, morale is said to be high in the NXT group of wrestlers. They get a lot of buzz on the internet and are treated like heroes from the full sail crowd. But that isn't going to pay the bills. And the problem WWE have, is that NXT isn't really pulling in the big money that can allow for bigger contracts. Despite the complaints of poor money, NXT's lower level talent with $100,000 downsides did get that raised to $125,000. There's probably other bonuses as well, to offset the fact that there isn't any pay per view money. Ultimately, as happy as the wrestlers are in NXT with all the buzz, they very much want to be on the main roster and earning the bigger money. It is easy to forget that NXT is still very much a niche product compared to the main shows. The gulf in earnings is significant.
