With their television viewership stuck in a seemingly chronic state of decline, Network subscription numbers are one of the key metrics WWE point to when measuring their modern success, and with their Q2 2019 financial reports looming, it looks like the promotion are going all out to boost those numbers.

Per PW Insider, yesterday saw the promotion email a number of former Network subscribers in order to offer them three months of their outstanding streaming service for just 99 cents.

The upcoming Extreme Rules, NXT TakeOver: Toronto II, SummerSlam, and Clash of Champions events are being used as selling points for the promotion.

This is a tactical move by WWE. As mentioned in their Q1 2019 reports, they anticipated losing up to 300,000 subscribers after WrestleMania 35, and this deal could inflate their numbers into October and through to the end of their third quarter. If it works, the metric will be looking very rosy indeed.

Is this an artificial inflation? Absolutely, but it's unlikely that anyone who benefits from the 99 cents offer will be complaining. That's an absolute steal for a tremendous streaming service that has changed the way people consume wrestling forever.
