WWE Planning New Network Features Despite Budget Cuts

Despite firing 7% of its employees due to its lukewarm start, WWE are still pumping money in new Network programming.

Despite the significant staff and talent cuts due to the start of the WWE Network, it appears as if the company is pushing forward and still looking to add more content to the digital subscription service, refusing to look back. 1Wrestling.com€™s Bill Apter mentioned this week on his Facebook that he was brought in by the WWE to cover several historical topics, saying €œSpent a quality day at WWE Network studio yesterday being interviewed (general historical stuff) for several shows! A lot of you have commented on the shows I have already been on and I really appreciate your support more than I can say!€ Apter has worked on numerous Network related projects for the WWE since they planned to launch the network several years ago. The WWE appears to remain committed to producing more new programming to their service, showing that they remain all-in on the success of the service. Vince McMahon announced last week during the investor conference call that new programs, including the highly anticipated €œMonday Night Wars€ series would be starting soon. A €œrivals€ program is also set for the Network later this year. Along with new pricing options and an international roll out this month, the Network looks to drastically improve over the disappointing subscription numbers in which were revealed last week. It was also announced on the conference call that the "break-even" number for the Network was significantly lowered with the cuts in budget.
