WWE Possibly Running The Rock Vs Triple H At WrestleMania 31

The Rock and Triple H clashed when they met at Smackdown's 15th anniversary show.

WWE have taped a backstage segment that features The Rock and Triple H. Airing on this Friday's Smackdown 15th Anniversary show, the angle could lead toward a WrestleMania 31 match. "WWE isn€™t going to tease something in that direction if it€™s not the planned direction" is what Dave Meltzer said of the exchange, in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The match was first teased at the start of the show. Stephanie McMahon opened proceedings and talked about how Rock came up with the "smackdown" name. She then added that her husband had went on to defeat The Rock. Later in the show, a backstage vignette developed things further. Rock, Hunter and Stephanie featured in the segment, which ended up being very notable. First of all, Triple H mentioned he had defeated Rock in the first ever Smackdown main event. Rock then shot back that he had rock bottomed The Game through a table. They went on like this, noting the major victories they'd had over each other in their WWE careers. Rock then said he'd beat Triple H if they met at WrestleMania. It was intense at times, comedic in other parts, but the conclusion was both men vowing to beat the other if they ever met again in the ring. This is a major development. Rock vs Triple H is just about the biggest WrestleMania 31 main event possible. Both are major stars and well known amongst all sorts of fans from the Attitude Era. Really, this match should've happened at WrestleMania 2000. Rock and Hunter were the two biggest stars of the period and deserved the sole Mania spotlight. Finally, at WrestleMania 31, we might get to see the biggest Mania main event of all time.
