WrestleMania X8 is infamous for it's 'Icon vs Icon' match pitting Hollywood Hulk Hogan against The Rock. Billed as wrestling's past versus wrestling's future, it was one of the most highly-anticipated and well-received WrestleMania matches of all time.
It had been many years since we'd seen Hogan at WrestleMania, but following his return to WWE alongside the nWo at No Way Out, the Hulkster entered into a rivalry with The Rock. Despite numerous attempts to portray Hogan as a heel, the Mania crowd weren't having any of it and what followed was a thrilling contest in front of over 68,000 rapturous fans.
Sixteen years have passed since this iconic match and record-breaking event it was a part of. A night which saw Stone Cold Steve Austin hitting Scott Hall with a Stunner that almost catapulted him out of the arena, Lita's only Mania match, and the WWF Undisputed Champion reduced to a third wheel in the main event.
