WWE RAW 2/24/2014 Review: 5 Things We Learned

This is the one word that will be used when describing what was to be one of the most important episodes of RAW ever to be aired in the history of the WWE, an episode that landed with a resounding thud by the night's end this week. On Monday February 24th, 2014, WWE RAW was officially underwhelming. This could be a huge problem for them moving forward to Wrestlemania XXX, and history is surely only to be lukewarm to this key episode when it's thought of in the years to come. This Monday night's RAW was anticipated to be a huge turning point and milestone in the history of the WWE company. With the launch of the WWE Network on Monday morning, the WWE had positioned that evening's RAW broadcast to be monumental: something special and game-changing to go along with the WWE Network's birth, and an extra dose of pizzazz to kick of the official Road to Wrestlemania. But it really wasn't so much a swing and a miss, but more of a swing and a ball pulled foul and out of play. There were certainly great parts to the show, and we will look at them in this week's 5 Things. But there was nothing changing the game, nothing earth-shattering, nothing even remotely ground-breaking. While the return of the immortal Hulk Hogan was fantastic to see...one man, no matter how legendary, cannot carry a 3 hour show with only one appearance that took place at the outset. But here are 5 things we learned following this noted RAW broadcast following the launch of the WWE Network:
