WWE RAW 4/21/2014 Review: 5 Things We Learned

5. The WWE World Heavyweight Champion Returns

Following his career-defining win (thus far) at Wrestlemania XXX, and hot off the heels of his wedding and subsequent honeymoon with Brie Bella, Daniel Bryan returned to RAW this week full of emotion. His return to WWE opened the show, with the crowd 100% behind him, and Brie standing in the ring to welcome the WWE World Heavyweight Champion back home. The look on Bryan's face was genuine, and we can only imagine how it feels for him to have come so far. His father also passed away unexpectedly yesterday, making last night's appearance that much more emotional for him to endure. But before he could cut a promo, he was interrupted by Stephanie McMahon, who is doing the greatest heel work of her career. She showed genuinely fake concern for Bryan and Brie's safety, as she unleashed the monster Kane, back in his full garb and on the attack at her command. Daniel Bryan, again, was obliterated at the hands of The Authority, with Kane delivering not one but TWO tombstone piledrivers to Bryan to close out the opening segment. Bryan was hauled out on a stretcher, and their match for Extreme Rules is set. http://youtu.be/0NXzxmzqjEg The only thing that would have made this segment legendary is if the newly returned monster Kane would have gone after Stephanie when he was done with Bryan. I love an unstoppable Kane, but not a Kane controlled by Stephanie McMahon.
