WWE Raw: 8 Things To Expect Tonight (May 9)

Will we see AJ Styles turn a little towards to the dark side?

With the short gap between Payback and Extreme Rules, WWE have been forced to build new feuds and storylines with haste - and, for the most part, they look to be doing so successfully.

Yes, many of the proposed bouts for May 22nd are rematches, but they at least have a sense of freshness about them. Tonight's Raw therefore has the potential to be another exciting, engaging one - if the McMahon's don't dominate camera time, that is...

Don't expect anything to be clearly resolved - this is a transitional Raw between PPVs, after all - but don't be surprised if one or two feuds see a particular wrestler begin to dominate another.

Here are a few key points we should look out for tonight.

8. AJ's Revenge

Roman Reigns is currently the most protected superstars on the entire roster, and as such, we haven't seen AJ Styles really gain the upper hand since losing at Payback. His six-man tag team lost on SmackDown, and he was slammed through the announce table on the previous Raw.

Logic would dictate that Reigns will continue to look strong until Extreme Rules, as WWE would hate to see their golden boy one-upped by a smaller indie legend.

On the other hand, Styles was allowed to dominate at Payback. Sure, he lost the match, but it at least demonstrated that creative aren't entirely averse to allowing him momentary domination.

I think we'll see another example tonight. AJ deserves to stand tall at the end of the show, and still needs revenge for that announce table assault last week.
