WWE Raw Draws Huge Rating The Night After WrestleMania 30

This week's WWE Raw episode has garnered the highest wrestling TV viewers since July 2012. Coming the night after WrestleMania 30, the show featured new WWE Champion Daniel Bryan in prominent segments in addition to an array of newer stars and fresh storylines. This is a great sign for WWE that the direction they are going with Bryan is going to lead to increased business. The show averaged 5.14 million viewers, up from 4.63 the previous week. The hourly breakdown was as follows: Hour One: 5.31 million viewers Hour Two: 5.09 million viewers Hour Three: 5.03 million viewers As you can see, the three hours held up better than usual, there was no major drop-off and these numbers will be received hugely well within WWE. The final rating came in at a 3.7, meaning WWE has had its most successful Raw since the 1,000th special episode on July 23rd 2012. Having done better than any rating in 2013, the fresh stars WWE are currently putting over should now go on to continued success. However, significant credit for the high rating has to be put down to The Undertaker. He was the biggest story coming out of WrestleMania 30, following his first loss at the event in 22 years. Most of us will admit to watching Raw in expectancy of answers to what the loss meant for Undertaker. He had been originally scheduled for the show, but following his injury at WrestleMania, he ended up going home. Instead we got a segment with Brock Lesnar in which Paul Heyman put the win over as the greatest moment ever. There was no mention of if The Undertaker was retiring.
