WWE RAW Reaction 4/3/13 - The Undertaker Returns To Take CM Punk To Hell

wwe-raw2 GONG! The Dead Man finally returned to WWE television last night to set up his next big Wrestlemania match against ... wait for it ... CM Punk. Shock horror. Punk had to earn his shot at The Streak though by defeating Randy Orton, Sheamus and The Big Show which was a smart choice given Punk's string of high profile loses since Royal Rumble. Seeing 'Taker emerge from the 3 giant letters on the old school RAW set was enough to send chills down your spine and made Wrestlemania 29 about a thousand times more exciting. This was Old School RAW on case you didn't know. WWE should have used this as a chance to return to an 'Old School' one hour format cutting out all the crappy filler we're sitting through every week. Antonio Cesaro was jobbed out to Ryback yet again. At lead this week he got to last over six minutes before the hungry ex-Skip Sheffield scored a victory. At least they used this as a chance to build a Ryback/Mark Henry match at 'Mania. Only thing is, where's this leave The Shield? Miz appears to be doing AJ Styles' TNA gimmick as Ric Flair Junior. It didn't work then either and AJ is a million more times talented than Miz. Zack Ryder losing in 50 seconds? Should have kept his mouth shut this week about how poorly WWE uses him. Rock and John Cena had a meeting of the minds this week on RAW. Between them I doubt they had enough excitement to power a light bulb. Does anyone over the age of 10 really care about the main event for 'Mania? Are there going to be any 'Old School' Legends on the show then? I wait here comes Sgt Slaughter, Haxsaw Jim Duggan and The American Dream to battle the evil drunk driving, pot smoking, immigrant hating Jack Swagger. The fact that Swagger didn't annihilate Duggan in 5 seconds was the wrong decision for WWE bookers. Did the fans actual start chanting "We Want Virgil" during Hell No Vs The Primetime Players? Quick, someone check the subways we're sure he'll be down there selling merchandise on the cheap again. Maybe TNA will hire him based on how over he is? The less said about Honky Tonk Man the better. It was good to see Triple H pumped up to fight Brock Lesnar. Their previous match was pretty shoddy but after last year's performance I'm sure HHH will put on a helluva show. It's just up to Lesnar to do the same. Old School is a good theme for WWE and I'm all for them doing it. A few weeks before Wrestlemania probably isn't the best time to do it though but it did seem fitting to being back the greatest old schooler of all time though and having Undertaker close the show makes next week's RAW must see TV. GONG!
