WWE Raw Review 28/5/12 - Punk vs Bryan, Big Show Destroys Brodus Clay

Last night's WWE Raw SuperShow results from the New Orleans Arena. Tonight's Memorial Day show is dedicated to all the fallen soldiers. Big Show opens the show coming down in a suit to a chorus of boos. He says he is just doing his job - smiling. Show says it was easy to make the crowd smile and he made a living at it. He says it was a calculated business decision but he can't smile anymore because of his iron-clad contract. The crowd begin to chant for Cena. Show says he is set for life and that he can do whatever he wants, when he wants and to who he wants and he no longer has to worry about putting smiles on faces. He says he is not an entertainer anymore but a giant and that nobody is in his league. This promo goes on and on for over 10 minutes before Show trashes Cena and hypes their match at WWE No Way Out. 1) Alberto Del Rio defeated WWE United States Champion Santino Marella in a non-title match when Santino tapped to the cross armbreaker. Eve Torres is backstage with Alex Riley and he sucks up to her. He says she has done a fantastic job and that she looks great. Big Show walks up. Eve tells Show that John Laurinaitis is letting Show pick his own opponent tonight. Eve walks away as Show just stares down Riley. Shoe tells him to relax as he's not picking him but he would like Riley to send a message to the rest of the WWE locker room. He then slams Riley's face through the concrete wall. 2) WWE Tag Team Champions R-Truth & Kofi Kingston defeated Jack Swagger & Dolph Ziggler to retain their belts. Truth picked up the win on Swagger. Post-match Ziggler has words with Swagger and Vickie. He says he is better than this and walks off as Vickie begs him not to leave. Santino is backstage with a trainer, holding his arm. Big Show warns him that he might pick Santino to wrestle tonight. He grabs Santino's face and asks him if he it's funny now. Brodus Clay then appears and taunts Show into picking him tonight. Show says that Brodus won't be dancing when Show is through with him. John Laurinaitis comes out on his scooter and has Eve Torres and David Otunga by his side as he enters the ring. He announces that Big Show has chosen Brodus Clay to wrestle tonight. Not only that but the Big Show vs. John Cena match at WWE No Way Out will now be a Steel Cage match. Laurinaitis then goes on to claim he is the most popular WWE star in history for defeating John Cena at Over The Limit. He then talks about WWE 13 coming out in October and reveals the new cover of the video game has him featured. WWE Champion CM Punk's music then hits and out he comes. Punk says that Laurinaitis is not popular at all and he reveals the real cover of WWE 13 and it features somebody much better looking... CM Punk. A big version of the cover actually comes down from the ceiling as Punk's music hits. Punk destroys the Laurinaitis cover as he walks to the back. 3) Daniel Bryan defeated WWE Champion CM Punk in a non-title match to earn a WWE Title shot at a future date. Bryan wins when CM Punk charges at him but Bryan moves and he lands on the exposed turnbuckle for the pinfall. AJ Lee who was at ringside tried to tell the referee that Bryan was removing the protective covering on the turnbuckle. Post-match Bryan chants "YES" as AJ Lee looks upset. Bryan turns around and gets planted with a steel chair from Kane who then chokeslams Bryan onto it. AJ gives Punk a steel chair and he fights off Kane until he leaves the ring. Punk and AJ then exchange looks. 4) WWE IC Champion Christian defeated The Miz in a non-title match with the Killswitch as former Champion Cody Rhodes watched on from the ramp. Eve, Otunga & Laurinaitis are backstage and they send Teddy Long to get some coffee. Johnny says he is not happy with their performances tonight. He mentions Sheamus and Otunga says he wants to wrestle him tonight. Laurinaitis says he needs people he can trust. Teddy comes back in a maid outfit and hands Eve some coffee and she spits it out. He says it's supposed to be cold, it's iced coffee before shaking his head. The Miz is in the ring complaining about his latest defeat and says that he wants to know where his iron-clad contract is after being the force that allowed Team Laurinaitis to win at WrestleMania. Miz wants to be on a video game cover, his title shot and bonus. He says he ain't leaving but then Randy Orton's music hits and he comes out to the ring and hits the RKO on Miz before posing to the crowd. Dolph Ziggler is backstage with Vickie Guerrero and says that he needs to be the one in the ring like that. He wants Vickie to get him out of the tag team division and way from Swagger. She says she will see what ehs ecan do. 5) WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus defeated David Otunga with the White Noise and then the Brogue Kick for the pinfall. 6) Brodus Clay vs Big Show goes to a no-contest when the match never really starts. Show came out with a microphone for his entrance when Clay was already in the ring dancing and said that Show was like a modern day Doink the Clown but at least Doink had talent. He speared Clay on the floor outside the ring and started to work on him and beat him up on the right post and announce table. Kofi Kingston and R-Truth came down to try and help Clay but they were both caught and flung away. Crowd begins to chant for Cena. There is carnage as Show leaves Clay, Kingston and R-Truth laid out. He then walks up the ramp and shakes hands with John Laurinaitis who is smiling and raises Show's hands up in the air.
