WWE RAW Review: A Show That Started Out So Well...

wwe-raw2 Another week, another RAW review. We keep moving closer and closer to Wrestlemania and this episode did a good job of setting up some matches that we all knew would be happening. This episode started off with a bang and then, without explanation, turned into another mediocre episode of the longest running episodic television series of all time. The show did have several great segments. Sadly, they were all clustered together at the beginning of the show which gave viewers hope that this week would be different. This week I want to try something new with the RAW review. Instead of giving more detailed play-by-play of the matches, I€™m just going to throw down the short of it so I can give my thoughts. I assume anyone reading this normally has already watched RAW, so giving a detailed account of what happened may be redundant (also it makes my job easier so that I don€™t have to describe every Great Khali brainchop). OPENING SEGMENT WOW! The best way a RAW episode has kicked off in a long time. Luckily, the Paul Heyman/Vince McMahon fight went the way everyone thought it would, with Brock Lesnar and Triple H getting involved. This should have been a typical revenge beatdown, but holy crap, it turned into something so much more. The minute Triple H attacked Lesnar, you could tell he was out for blood. And how true that bloodlust would ring true a few moments later. For the first time in a while, a significant sighting of €œBAI GAWD KING, HE€™S BEEN BUSTED OPEN!€ when Lesnar€™s head hit the ring post. The blood really added to the theatrical element of this feud. Once the blood came into play, you knew this was something different. People often complain about the lack of blood in the current PG-era, but to be honest, it€™s not that big of a deal. If anything, it adds to a match when someone does get busted open now, as opposed to back in the Attitude Era when EVERYONE was getting busted open (or any TNA PPV). That€™s why it was shocking last night. It wasn€™t because of the amount of blood (however, Lesnar may have needed a transfusion post-match) but just the fact THAT THERE WAS BLOOD. This Lesnar/HHH interaction sets up their rematch for Wrestlemania which I€™m fine with. If this feud can keep up the intensity of last night, then we are in for a crazy match at Wrestlmania.
