WWE: Ric Flair Expected To Appear On Raw

The reunion of Evolution has been fun to watch so far, but it has been missing someone: Ric Flair. A new report from PWInsider claims that multiple sources within WWE have confirmed that Flair will be on Raw this coming Monday in St. Louis. With just one more episode of Raw left before the May 4 Extreme Rules event, it makes a lot of sense that WWE would bring back Flair to have some kind of interaction with Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista just six days prior to their showdown against The Shield. Over the past couple of years, Flair has only served as a panelist on pre & post game shows as well as making special appearances on Old School Raw episodes. He hasn't been involved in storylines for many years now unless you count when he was trying to mentor The Miz, which didn't really go anywhere. There's no telling if he'll be around following Monday's appearance or if it's a one time thing. It will be interesting to see how Flair is used because the Evolution group is booked as three heels that are still active wrestlers. Flair is in his 60s, is a two time WWE Hall of Famer and will likely get cheered no matter what he does at this point in his career. They could try to have him portray a heel with the group, but it may not work. Ten years ago it did, but after seeing Flair retire in 2008 (we'll just ignore his TNA run) the fans love the guy as much as any legend there is. There are a number of things that could happen with Flair in attendance. He could align himself with his former Evolution buddies, he could get beat up by his former buddies if he heaps praise upon The Shield or they could continue to build the story by announcing that he'll be at Extreme Rules too. It's a smart move by WWE to bring Flair back into the mix on the last Raw before Extreme Rules. They should promote it on social media and their website to create some buzz. It wouldn't hurt. Welcome back, Nature Boy.
