WWE: Rob Van Dam For WrestleMania 30 Battle Royal?

Rob Van Dam Battle Royal The latest Figure Four Weekly Newsletter states that Rob Van Dam could be added as a surprise addition to the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 30. WWE have already confirmed that RVD will return at the April 7th RAW the night after WrestleMania, though there certainly would be no harm bringing him in the night before and RVD would likely be pushing for a place on the card. Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio further corroborates the news. "RVD could be in any day now. He could be a surprise in the battle royal." Both Alvarez and Meltzer note the return could still be on the April 7th Raw, but the indication is Mania could end up being a surprise early showing from the 'Whole FN Show'. The merits of Van Dam returning on the Raw would be a more focused return, it would make Van Dam more of a bigger story on the night. In contrast, his return at WrestleMania would inevitably be lost in the fan frenzy for Daniel Bryan or the other main events. Still, it would certainly be nice to see the Andre Battle Royal given some prestige with a big returner. The latest backstage update about the Battle Royal indicates it will be on the main card, the way it's timed out suggests it has to be a bigger scale production. As such, the tag title match is expected to be on the pre-show. Figure Four Weekly also confirmed that the winner of the Battle Royal will carry around a miniature Andre trophy.
