WWE: The Rock And Steve Austin To Cameo At WrestleMania 30?

The WWE will feature The Rock in a cameo at WrestleMania 30, according to the Wrestling Observer. The impression given to Dave Meltzer is that Rock will be on the show in some form, whether it will be live or taped is unknown at this point. The report also states there's a good chance of Steve Austin being on the show given that he will be in New Orleans for the Hall Of Fame. The Rattlesnake had previously said he would watch the Hall Of Fame from home, he had no interest in going to Mania weekend unless there was something for him to do. The fact he will now be in the city indicates he could have accepted a WWE creative pitch and will now feature at some point on the Mania show. It certainly makes sense for WWE to have big star cameos on the show. It's the thirtieth anniversary of WrestleMania, it adds a special feel to see the legends who built the brand. The report indicates a host of other names have also been approached for appearing, including Jim Ross, Ric Flair, Roddy Piper and Shawn Michaels. The Rock seems more likely to appear only via video, in my opinion. He's a very busy guy with his movie career, and it doesn't make sense to use him in any way live without prior promotion. Rock is a name who increases buys when promoted ahead of time, even if it is just for a short cameo. There's an excellent chance Austin turns up live though, his being in New Orleans is surely linked.
