WWE: The Rock Talks About Facing Brock Lesnar At Wrestlemania 30

Former WWE Champion and Hollywood box office sensation, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, has opened up about the rumoured "Rock Vs Brock" match for Wrestlemania 30. The bout was planned as far back as summer 2012 when Vince McMahon surmised that a contest between The Rock and Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania would be the ultimate mainstream attention grabber. Given Rock's Hollywood fame and Lesnar's MMA notoriety you have to agree with McMahon's assessment, this match would have generated considerable casual viewers. The Rock has now confirmed the match was set to take place, and also stated that it is now off the cards. Writing on Twitter he says - "Between Vince, Brock & myself our Wrestlemania 30 plan was ROCK vs BROCK. No plans now for 30 but possibly WM 31." The reason the match was nixed was because of the abdomen injury Rock suffered at Wrestlemania 29. Coupled with his huge success in Hollywood this past year, it was decided that the WWE was too much of a distraction and risk for 'The Great One' to commit to right now. The Lesnar Rock story had been scheduled to start the night after Wrestlemania 29. Rock and Brock were booked to come to blows on the post Mania Raw, but Rock pulled out due to the injury. Lesnar will now face The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 30 and he will appear again on the January 6th Old School Raw and the Royal Rumble to set that feud up. Rock meanwhile is a long shot to ever wrestle again, despite his assertion of possibly wrestling at Wrestlemania 31.
